When the Dial is initially created, the caster is teleported directly towards the nearest unoccupied hour cell. This is usually the one directly behind them, but if this is occupied the next clockwise one is used instead (or the next, etc).
At the beginning of each turn, the Xelor must be both standing on one of the Hour Cells, and the dial must have spare charges. If either of these conditions are not met then the Dial is destroyed.
The Hour Cells provide a number of bonuses, to damage, to demotivation chances, and to the amount of Initiative the caster can inflict. There are also a number of other Xelor spells which utilise the Dial and Hour Cells for additional effects.
Another effect of the Dial is that the caster can teleport to any of the cell, while using only 1 Move Point, allowing quick movement on the field.
